It’s All in the Puff

There are times when enjoying a good cigar is a most welcome respite from life’s busy agendas. I’ve never liked cigarettes. Cigars are quite another thing, since the smoke doesn’t do more than coat the inside of my mouth, I compare the experience of smoking a cigar to eating a tasty meal. It’s the most lightweight type of diet, eating lovely smoky air. It actually can be a bit of an appetite suppressant for me, which is good. So, I’ve to watch my weight and control my food intake, and that’s where smoking cigars comes in to supply awesome flavor with zero calories.

These days I get all my cigars online from The Cigar Store. I like a good dark cigar, especially those high-end Cohiba Corona cigars that have ultra-smooth flavor. I love a lazy evening, listening to Billie Holiday, drawing in that puff of smoke, holding it in my mouth for a moment, and then blowing large smoke rings to join The Cloud I’ve built up near the ceiling. It’s the puff that makes the cigar experience unique, and these cigars really puff, because they’re tightly wound, giving them a better draw. If cigar haters are in the house, I’ll have it on the balcony, glancing over my shoulder at The Missing ones. The ones missing great smoking experiences.

I smoke the darker cigars while sipping fine Cognac. When I can get them, my favorites so far, are the nice oily coating of the better cigars, such as the Cohiba Churchill or the Cohiba Black Supremo. After a stressful day at work, I find this combo completely relaxes me and I can let go of that stress and see things through a smoke filled lens that helps me value the successes I’ve had more than any failures I had been regretting. On weekends I have had the unique experience of the Blood Red Moon cigars.

Another, newer type of cigar I’m getting interested in is the DUO. This is very dark, with that Maduro wrapper from Brazil. It’s a bit of an indulgence, but I’ll definitely be indulging with DUOs again. They’re so sweet and mellow, yet I don’t think of the DUO as a dessert smoke, per se. The Acid Krush Gold Sumatra has a mixture of light flavors. I tend to stick to the few cigar brands I like best.
