Urban legend has it that 7-20-4 cigars got their name from the numbers on a lottery ticket won by R.G. Sullivan, who established the brand in 1874. This theory, however, was challenged by George Franklyn Willey in his book, Willey's semi-centennial book of Manchester, 1846-1896. He proposed that Sullivan chose "7-20-4" after the address of his cigar factory at 724 Elm Street in Manchester, NH - which would explain why he changed the original name "New Gold Dust Cigars" to "7-20-4". Each cigar was handmade and sold for 10ยข apiece - unfortunately they cannot be shipped into New York.
