How to Find the Right Cigar with The Cigar Store’s Extended Search

Shopping for cigars online should be enjoyable, not overwhelming. With thousands of choices available, however, finding the right cigar can sometimes feel like searching for a needle in a tobacco field.

That is exactly why we created The Cigar Store’s Extended Search. Instead of scrolling through page after page, you can narrow the selection according to the qualities that matter to you—whether that means a favorite brand, a certain strength, a particular wrapper or simply a price that fits your budget.

You do not need to use every option. Start with one or two things you already know, then add more filters until the results feel manageable.

How to Find the Right Cigar with The Cigar Store’s Extended Search

Start with a Name or Keyword

If you already have something in mind, enter it in the Search here… box at the top of the page. You can search for a brand, cigar line or product name.

For example, you might enter Arturo Fuente, Maduro, Toro or Connecticut. The results update to show the products that best match your search. You can then use the filters on the left side of the page to narrow those results even further.

Shop Within Your Price Range

The Price filter is an easy place to begin when you have a budget in mind. Available ranges include:

  • $49.99 or less

  • $50.00–$99.99

  • $100.00–$199.99

  • $200.00–$299.99

  • $300.00 or more

This is especially useful when shopping for a box, bundle or gift. Select a range and the page removes the products that fall outside your budget.

Show Only Cigars That Are In Stock

Check In Stock under Product Availability when you want to see cigars that are currently available to order. This saves time when you need a cigar soon or do not want to look through temporarily unavailable products.

Choose the Length and Ring Gauge

Cigar size affects much more than appearance. It can influence how long the cigar lasts, how it feels in your hand and how the blend develops while you smoke.

Use the Length slider to choose the approximate length you prefer. Then use the Ring slider to narrow the diameter, or ring gauge. A smaller ring gauge generally feels slimmer in the mouth, while a larger ring gauge often provides a cooler, longer smoke with more room for different filler tobaccos.

If you are not sure about the measurements, the Shape filter may be the easier way to shop.

Search by Brand

Have a favorite cigar maker? Open the Brand filter and select one or more brands. There is also a small search box inside this section, which makes it much faster to find a specific name without scrolling through the entire list.

Selecting more than one brand is a good way to compare similar cigars from makers you already trust.

Explore the Filler, Binder and Wrapper

Every premium cigar is built from three basic parts, and our search page lets you explore each one:

  • Filler is the tobacco at the center of the cigar and provides much of its body, complexity and character.

  • Binder holds the filler together and also contributes to the burn and overall flavor.

  • Wrapper is the finished outer leaf. It plays a major role in the cigar’s aroma, appearance and taste.

These filters are helpful if you already know you enjoy tobacco from places such as Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Honduras or Mexico. The Wrapper filter also makes it easy to explore familiar styles such as Connecticut, Natural, Habano, Sumatra and Maduro.

Do not worry if you are new to tobacco origins. You can skip these filters and start with flavor, strength or shape instead.

Find a Flavor You Enjoy

The Flavor filter is particularly useful when you are in the mood for a flavored or infused cigar. Depending on current availability, choices may include profiles such as vanilla, sweet, cherry, coffee and honey.

This filter can also help you discover something different from your usual cigar. Try combining a flavor with your preferred price or shape to keep the results focused.

Select Your Preferred Strength

Strength is one of the most personal parts of choosing a cigar. Use the Strength filter to narrow the selection to the intensity you are comfortable with.

Newer cigar smokers often begin with a mild cigar, while experienced smokers may prefer medium or fuller-bodied choices. Keep in mind that strength describes intensity, not quality. A well-made mild cigar can be just as satisfying and flavorful as a stronger one.

Shop by Cigar Shape

If you know the format you enjoy, the Shape filter can quickly reduce a large list of results. Popular choices shown on the page include Toro, Robusto, Cigarillo, Gordo and Churchill, with additional shapes available under Show more.

Shape is also a practical way to shop according to the time you have. A cigarillo or smaller format may suit a short break, while a Churchill or Gordo is better when you can settle in for a longer smoke.

Combine Filters to Create Your Own Cigar Match

The real power of Extended Search comes from combining several options. Suppose you want a medium-strength Toro with a Maduro wrapper that is currently in stock. Select each of those preferences and the page will narrow the results automatically.

Another shopper might look for a mild Connecticut Robusto under $100. There is no single correct way to search—the best combination is the one that reflects your taste, time and budget.

One useful tip: begin broadly. If the search becomes too narrow or returns fewer choices than expected, remove one filter at a time. You can also use Clear Filters to start fresh.

Sort the Results Your Way

Once you have narrowed the selection, use Sort By above the results. You can choose:

  • Best Match

  • Price lowest first

  • Price highest first

Best Match is helpful when searching by a name or keyword. Sorting by price makes comparison shopping easier when budget is the deciding factor.

Let the Search Page Do the Work

You do not have to know everything about cigars to use Extended Search. Think of it as a conversation: tell the page one thing you want, look at the choices, and then add another preference if you need fewer results.

Whether you are searching for an old favorite, comparing prices or trying something completely new, The Cigar Store’s Extended Search gives you a faster and more personal way to shop.

Try The Cigar Store Extended Search and see what you discover.
