Over the years, numerous studies about the effects of smoking have been carried out. These studies have revealed many unknown benefits that a cigar<\/a> offers to a smoker. Many health organizations have labeled smoking as dangerous habit, but the studies have turned this round with amazing facts about the benefits. In fact, the list of benefits is pretty long. Apart from the fact that smoking is a luxurious relaxing exercise, this activity has other advantages.<\/p>\n

The most renowned benefit of smoking is weight loss. Tobacco contains nicotine, which get in your body once you smoke. The nicotine taken acts as an appetite depressant. It does this in two major ways:<\/p>\n

\u2022 After smoking, nicotine is introduced in the body. The nicotine affects a part of the brain called the hypothalamus, thereby influencing some hormones. This triggers an increase in the smoker\u2019s metabolism resulting to suppressed appetite.
\n\u2022 It has also been proven that the nicotine contained in tobacco has an effect of lowering insulin levels in the blood of the smoker. The resulting effect is that the smoker has less cravings for sugary foods, hence a loss of appetite.<\/p>\n

There are other ways in which smoking reduces your appetite and curbs over-eating habits. It has been proven that smoking affects the tasting and smelling senses. After smoking, the smoker may feel the food is less tasty, or the smell of food is less appealing. This contributes to low appetite.<\/p>\n

A more scientific explanation is that after smoking, adrenaline in the stomach muscles is triggered by the nicotine making the smoker feel less hungry.<\/p>\n

For many years, smoking cigars has been known to cause weight loss. In fact, research indicates that the fear of gaining weight is a major reason why smokers choose not to quit smoking. Apart from the benefit of low appetite and curbing over eating habits, smoking is known to reduce the risk of death after an attack by a cardiovascular disease.<\/p>\n

Once you quit smoking, the increased metabolism lowers, and the former smoker eats more. This also causes the burning of fewer calories. The senses of taste and smell return to their previous states and food becomes attractive. The results are an increased appetite and weight gain.<\/p>\n
