This\u00a0 blend\u00a0 is one of my favorites. I bought the 601 La Bombas<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span> when they first came out and have bought them ever since. This cigar gives you the most bang for the buck than just about any cigar I can think of.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think Eddie Ortega is a genius. He knows how to bring the right team members together and, as a team, they put out one of the finest line of cigars of all time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Part of that team is Pepin Garcia. The cigars are made in Nicaragua at the My Father Factory.<\/span><\/p>\n

The La Bomba line is all Nicaraguan puros that is renowned for a dark, oily habano wrapper. There are\u00a0 four sizes are available: Atom (5.5 x 46), Napalm (5 x 52), Atomic (6 x 60), and Nuclear (6 x 50). Personally, I prefer the Atom and the Napalm.<\/span><\/p>\n

The stick I am using today has a tiny pig tail instead of the huge one as shown in the two photos. I broke it off by being too rough with it moving sticks around in my humidor. So you can say, that I am reviewing the Jewish circumcised version.<\/span><\/p>\n

Construction is on the rustic side with lots of veins, big and small. Who gives a shit?<\/span><\/p>\n

The stick is slightly toothy. The dark brown wrapper is gorgeous. And the band at the foot is clever and eye catching.<\/span><\/p>\n

I attack the sniff-o-rama and get some wood, earthiness, and spice. Actually, very mild in the aroma arena.<\/span><\/p>\n

I carefully remove the pig tail and hope the hole won\u2019t require any tools to make it larger. It\u2019s a no-go. The pig tail is glued too tight at the point it does a 90 degree turn to the body of the cigar and I can\u2019t risk pulling it off so I use a guillotine cutter.<\/span><\/p>\n

I use a triple torch lighter and do a crappy job of lighting it so I\u2019ve ruined the chance of a good photo showing a perfect char line.<\/span><\/p>\n

The initial few puffs are spicy and full of chocolate. I love that this cigar is a spice bomb at first. There isn\u2019t a cigar made that is too spicy for me. And almost immediately, the creaminess shows up to twirl in its dancing shoes. The draw is dead nuts perfect.<\/span><\/p>\n

And the burn line is fixing itself like an automaton. No help needed from me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oh\u2026this is heaven for me. The flavor profile becomes exotic and complex half an inch in. There is a dark, sweet cherry note. And due to the high content of cocoa, I grab a Diet Coke so I can have my chocolate phosphate experience while smoking.<\/span><\/p>\n

This stick ain\u2019t so much a spice bomb as it is a flavor bomb!<\/span><\/p>\n

This cigar reminds me of a well aged Casa Fernandez Miami Reserva.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ash is at the 1\u201d mark and has made me a happy man. I would love to be able to keep a box in my humidor at all times. This cigar is addictive.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cigar is a very slow burner. The second third smooths out into a delectable treat of cocoa, dark cherry, creaminess, and red pepper.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The complexity is always there providing a nice intertwining of flavors and strength. The body is medium\/full at this point\u2026but having smoked my share, I know what\u2019s coming. I\u2019m already getting a nicotine buzz.<\/span><\/p>\n

I made sure to eat breakfast before lighting this stick.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would like to add that this stick has a little over a month\u2019s rest on it.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ortega D which comes from Eddie\u2019s new brand is a monster cigar also. He has a couple other blends that are supposed to be released this Summer. Can\u2019t wait.<\/span><\/p>\n

I take my first sips of water and I detect a finite amount of cinnamon in the profile. And wood and leather. This is the epitome of a meaty cigar.<\/span><\/p>\n

I get a slight tear in the wrapper as I enter the last third. I grab some El Ligador cigar glue and fix it. That stuff is worth its weight in La Bombas. You can get it on Ebay for about $5 a bottle. Well worth it\u2026.and a must in your box of cigar paraphernalia.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The last third becomes a symphony. I highly recommend that you let yours rest a month. If you don\u2019t, you get a huge pepper bomb that is so strong, it drowns out the complexity.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m getting a real buzz now and I think I see my dead relatives motioning me to the brightly lit tunnel. I decide to put the stick down and walk it off.<\/span><\/p>\n

I come back to it 15 minutes later and visions of dead relatives are gone.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cigar finishes off as a dreamy, creamy, delectable delight.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve never tried this stick, you are missing out on a true experience. Rocky\u2019s prices are as good, if not better, than anyone else out there. Pounce!<\/span><\/p>\n
