Here are some instances that could occur over time with your humidor and how you might be able to\u00a0fix them.<\/p>\n<p>If you detect any taste of fungi in your cigar, then your humidor has been damaged. Mold in your cigar can be an exasperating thing especially when you smoke it. It\u2019s not only irritating but also detrimental. To be able to fix your cigar humidor properly, you need to the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>First empty it. Remove all your cigars from the humidor. It is advisable to discard any cigar that has mold in it. This way, those that\u2019re not contaminated can be kept safe.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>After the humidor is empty, get some alcohol to clean it the mold on your humidor. If you don\u2019t have alcohol, is-propyl can work as an efficient alternative.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Use a soft clean cloth with the alcohol to thoroughly wipe off the mold from your humidor. Be sure not to scratch or dent your humidor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>After you have cleaned it properly, leave it for about 7 days before you can use it again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Just to be certain, you can reiterate the process after the seven days.<\/p>\n<p>Some humidors break and start to sip in water which damages the cigars. The crack might be so small and so unnoticeable. Here\u2019s how you can fix that:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Empty the humidor and run water through it. With this technique you\u2019ll be able to spot the point where the crack is. As long as the water is distilled, it won\u2019t harm the humidor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>After the crack has been identified, the cigar humidor can be disseminated by an expert and replaced with a better and unharmed surface. Some humidors have a glass surface for the top and can sometimes break or chip. This glass should be replaced immediately it has been found to be faulty, to uphold the quality and flavor of your cigars.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Most humidors become faulty when they\u2019re mishandled and wrongly stored. More often than not, the humidor\u2019s wrapper starts to peel off. Most people use saliva to fix it but that hardly ever works. Using lip balm also never works since it doesn\u2019t dry up. When your cigar humidor starts breaking off or unwrapping, it\u2019s prudent and easier to use acacia powder, formerly known as vegetable gum. You\u2019ll get this product in the supermarket or leading stores. It\u2019s an odorless powder which is mixed with some distilled water and when correctly applied, fixes the cracked or broke cigar humidor.<\/p>\n<p>So there you have it.
