Doroteo's legacy lived on through his numerous descendants, including his grandson Juan Lugo. As a child, Juan cherished memories of accompanying his grandfather in the fields as he confidently wielded his machete to clear paths for them both. As he grew older, Juan developed a deep appreciation for cigars and often reminisced about his grandfather while smoking tobacco from the Yaque valley. Even after Doroteo's passing, his impact remained evident when Juan's mother discovered tobacco plants on their inherited land that had been planted by Doroteo many years ago and continued to thrive. Filled with admiration for his grandfather and their shared passion for cigars and their country, Juan felt compelled to carry on Doroteo's legacy in his honor.
