Metapa Cigars
Rubén Darío, born on January 18, 1867 in Metapa (now Ciudad Darío), Nicaragua, is widely recognized as one of the greatest poets to have written in the Spanish language. His modernist poetry not only revolutionized the language but also served as a significant influence for future generations of poets. In addition to his literary contributions, Rubén Darío is revered as a national hero in Nicaragua, where the city of Metapa derived its name from the Nahuatl word "metl," meaning "place of magueys." The maguey plant holds deep cultural and religious symbolism in Central American mythology and art and was frequently featured in Darío's poems. This unique blend of flavors and strengths is what makes Melillo's creation truly exceptional, with the CT Broadleaf binder providing sweetness, while the Nicaraguan filler adds depth and intensity, all topped off with an exquisite wrapper.
