CAO took their time with this one. Initially, they introduced pilón fermented tobaccos in 2015 with the 90-rated CAO Pilón. This process creates premium leaves that are rich and smooth with a touch of spice, and it's worth the wait. Despite using a longer curing process, CAO added an additional two years of aging for a well-balanced experience. The name Pilón Añejo, meaning "aged pile," refers to an old technique used since the 19th century for curing tobacco. For this release, CAO's blender, Rick Rodriguez, crafted a new blend using Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers bound by a Honduran binder. To complete this well-aged cigar, they selected an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. With a medium-full profile, this cigar pairs perfectly with rye, rum, or porter!
