The La Gloria Cubana cigar boasts a long and distinguished history,
beginning in 1885 in Cuba. Early on it was an obscure brand of
Havana, but soon became extremely popular in the United States
during the cigar boom. To meet increased demand production moved to
the Dominican Republic, and just last year General Cigar Co.
launched two new Nicaraguan varieties: one for internet and catalog
retailers, and a Serie R Esteli created solely for brick-and-mortar
cigar shops - said to be among the greatest Glorias yet.
