The Murcielago cigars by Espinosa Cigar Co. were first introduced in 2009, making a name for themselves as one of the pioneering full-bodied Nicaraguan-style cigars with a luscious Mexican San Andrés wrapper. Originally crafted at the renowned My Father Cigars factory, they underwent a revamp in 2015 and are now produced at Espinosa's growing La Zona factory in Estelí. Now, in its third iteration since its launch, the Murcielago has been given a fresh new look and features well-aged tobaccos that provide an even more robust and complex flavor profile. Thanks to a collaboration between Espinosa and AJ Fernandez, these cigars are now rolled at AJ's prestigious San Lotano factory in Ocotál, Nicaragua. While the blend remains unchanged - a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper encasing premium Nicaraguan tobaccos - it now incorporates tobacco of greater age, resulting in a deep, rich taste with notes of chocolate, espresso, sweet raisins, black pepper, maple syrup, and oak.
