Tatuaje is a brand of handmade premium cigar owned by Tatuaje Cigars, Inc. It was created by Pete Johnson in close consultation with José Garcia and is manufactured at the El Rey de los Habanos factory in Miami, Florida, and at Tabacalera Cubana S. A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Tatuaje debuted a unique cigar at the 2021 Premium Cigar
Association (PCA) Trade Show, part of their La Riqueza line named
Tatuaje La Riqueza SE 2022. This release puts the spotlight back
on the La Riqueza brand after it was put on "pause" in 2017 by
Tatuaje. Though not discontinued, it was removed from price
sheets. The new SE offers a 5 5/8" x 54 size and comes in
ten-count boxes. Its blend includes a Connecticut Broadleaf
wrapper and double binder and filler grown on the Garcia family
farms in Nicaragua. A limited production of 4,500 boxes is
available.
Pete Johnson's Cojonu series has been around since 2003, being
released every few years with a different blend each time. The
Tatuaje Cojonu 2009 is a more robust and spicy version of the
regular Tatuaje cigars, its blend comprising an Ecuador Habano
wrapper and carefully chosen Nicaraguan binder and fillers. This 6
3/4 inch by 48 ring belicoso has a chocolate brown colour and,
although it starts off quite peppery like most of Pepin Garcia's
cigars, develops into a rich, complex nutty flavour that provides
an amazing smoking experience.
Featuring a medium brown Ecuadorian wrapper over a signature
Nicaraguan binder and long filler tobacco blend, Tatuaje Miami
Noellas cigars are rolled in a popular 5.12-ring Corona size. The
cigar's medium- to full-bodied profile, along with savory notes
of leather, cocoa, cedar, and peppery spice, make it a great
cigar for the cigar enthusiast.
As one of the hottest boutique cigars in the United States,
Tatuaje Miami was created by Pete Johnson and made by Pepin
Garcia at his factory in Little Havana, Miami. Featuring Pepin's
signature triple cap, the Tatuaje Regios is a 5 1/2 inch by 50
ring gauge Robusto made exclusively with Nicaraguan tobaccos and
expertly crafted in Cuban tradition. This smoke is medium bodied
and has hints of spice, chocolate and cedar. It's a very
delicious smoke.
With a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper encasing Nicaraguan
binder and fillers, Tatuaje Petite Reserva cigars feature subtle
notes of pepper, leather, cedar, dark chocolate, and wood.
When you're short on time, but want a great smoke, Tatuaje Miami
Reserva Short SW is the perfect choice. Miami Reserva SW is a
full-strength Robusto with Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and
Nicaraguan binder and filler, resulting in a pleasant, warm
natural Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The Miami Reserva SW has a
complex, yet well-balanced medium to full-bodied profile with
flavors of mixed nuts and pepper.
The Tatuaje Brown Label was created by Pete Johnson, otherwise
known as “Tattoo”. Drawing inspiration from Montecristo's of old,
it features 1st Generation Cuban seed tobacco grown in Nicaragua
and rolled in the My Father Miami Factory under the supervision of
the Garcia family. The blend promises full-bodied flavor packed
with a spicy punch and rich notes of tobacco. To top it off, each
cigar is crowned with an exquisite Cuban triple-seam cap.
There are woody, spicy, chocolatey, and cedar notes in this
medium-bodied cigar. Handmade by My Father Cigars in Miami,
Florida, the Tatuaje Miami Unicos have a warm-brown Ecuadorian
Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. Cigar Insider

The Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 Sumatra, a highly rated blend with an
impressive score of 93, took the number 9 spot on the Top 25
Cigars list in 2012 upon its release. Its profile consists
entirely of Nicaraguan fillers and binder, complemented by an
Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. These medium-full bodied cigars are
characterized by delightful notes of espresso, cocoa, and black
pepper. Measuring at 6 1/2 x 52, these box-pressed toros offer a
richer smoking experience with reduced airflow. A must-have for
any humidor, Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 Sumatra comes in both 5 packs
and boxes of 25 cigars.
